ASTRI WPAN Symposium 2007
Total Solutions for Wireless Digital Home Entertainment

Organized by Hong Kong Applied Science and Tehnology Research Institute Company Limited (ASTRI), an "ASTRI Technology Forum,  ASTRI WPAN Symposium 2007 - Total Solutions for Wireless Digital Home Entertainment" was held at Renalissance Kowloon Hotel on March 8, 2007. MEIIA was one of the Supporting Organizations.

The forum started at 9:30 am, after an Opening Speech by Mr. Peter Diu, VP, Wireless Multimedia Technologies Group, ASTRI, the following three talks were presented:

• WiMedia (UWB) Situation and Update in China
  - Dr. Ding Quan Long, WiMedia China Chapter
  
  
• Wireless UWB Networking Technology and Applications
  - Dr. Ding Quan Long, Wireless Multimedia Technology Group, ASTRI
  
  
• Video Codec Solution for WPAN
  - Mr. Bill Wong , Senior Director, Magnium Semiconductor

The refreshment break session provided a good networking time for participants.

Another three talks were proceeded after the Refreshment Break:

• UWB Solution
  - Mr. Alan S. ROth, Alereon Inc
  
  
• Display Solution
  - Mr. Kenny Chow, General Manager, Kopin (HK) Limited
  
  
• IGPS Standard, the Core Standard in the Digital Home
  - Dr. Sun Yuning, IGRS  

Mr. Angus Sam, Manager of ASTRI, presented souvenirs to all guest speakers.

After a lunch buffet for all participants, a demo and discussion sessions were arranged, participants showed interests in the new wireless technologies. 

The ASTRI WPAN Symposium 2007 was sucessfully completed by 3:30 pm.
